Michael Yohay
Director and Producer
Michael Yohay has directed and produced 16 award-winning films (see below for a listing of his work) and managed the Film and News Production Branch in the Spokespersons’ Division of the Israel Defense Forces between 1993-2005. Heading the unit, Yohay directed and produced features, public relations, documentary, publicity and educational films. He was responsible for news footage of IDF activities and their distribution to the mass media in Israel and abroad. Yohay also created and taught “field-news coverage” courses in the IDF. He managed the IDF archive and was responsible for local and worldwide marketing and distribution of IDF spokesperson media, including its website. Prior to his work with the IDF, Yohay served as film director of El Al Airline’s educational branch, as well as freelance film director for Israel’s national television station.
Michael Yohay earned his MBA in Marketing from Manchester University in Israel, MA in Political Science from Haifa University, BFA in Film and Television Studies as well as post-graduate certificate in Journalism from Tel Aviv University.
